Coffee has been cultivated on the island of Java since the late 1600s and the first Dutch sailing ships carried coffee back to Europe as early 1711. Ships would often stop at the port of Mokka, in what is now modern-day Yemen, and combine the Javanese coffee with the local production, resulting in the famous Mocca-Java blend. Taman Dadar means “flower garden”, which is the name the local farmers give to their area. This coffee comes from small farms in the villages of Curah Tatal and Kayumas on the Ijen Plateau in East Java. After employing organic farming techniques for generations, the farmers obtained organic certification, enabling them to receive a premium for their production of this excellent coffee.

Expect a medium to full-body, rich and syrupy. With average sweetness and nearly non-existent acidity, earthy notes of baker's chocolate fill the palate. A nice caffeine punch helps start the day right. This coffee is reminisce of most Indonesian offerings, especially Sumatra.

We recommend roasting medium to dark, but not too far.
