From the birthplace of coffee, this wonderfully fragrant, full bodied heirloom varietal delivers complex flavor. In natural processed beans, not only are expected creamy, dark chocolate notes present, but find tart lemon, and fruity strawberry and blueberry at hand. This is one of the best natural processed Ethiopian coffees we've had. Grown at greater than 6,200 ft, this hard bean holds up well at all roast levels.
This coffee is sourced from family owned farms organized around the Howolso Cooperative located in the district of Shebedino within the Sidama Zone, Southern Nations Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region. The Howolso Cooperative was founded in 1976 and currently has more than 1,782 members. Howolso joined the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (SCFCU), an umbrella organization established 2001 to support a sustainable coffee supply from cooperatives in the Sidama region.
